Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage
Nothing sounds more enchanting to me than a boat ride on the Seven Seas Lagoon while watching Wishes Nighttime Spectacular over Cinderella Castle! Mary and I decided to try something a little different on our last visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. We grabbed our little pirates and set sail for the wide open waters on a festive pirate cruise. The Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage was an adventure!
It started in a lovely room in the convention area of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Our family was transformed into a brave group of pirates and given a pirate bandana to wear on our voyage. We were then escorted into a room filled with plenty of delicious treats and treasures. The Cast Members were very helpful in providing delicious gluten-free treats for our Celiac Pack. We were encouraged to fill our bags with popcorn, cookies, cotton candy, and chocolate coins for our long voyage ahead. We also had a fun meet-and-greet with none other than the famous pirate himself, Captain Hook and his faithful friend Mr. Smee.
We then went outside to the dock at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We had a terrific pirate guide on our cruise who entertained us with songs and trivia questions. Our first stop was on the waterway outside of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge where we had a front row seat for the Electrical Water Pageant. This was a real treat. Although Mary and her kids had seen this show before, my family had only seen it in pictures. I just loved the barges that lit up with beautiful colors to patriotic music.
Our captain then took us around the Seven Seas Lagoon on a fabulous ride highlighting views of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We finally let down the anchor directly in front of Magic Kingdom Park. It was a spectator spot to view Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. I still get chills thinking of watching my children as they experienced the moment. Upon our return to the dock at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we had a great surprise! Peter Pan himself was on the dock! The kids loved seeing Peter Pan after our voyage. He was very kind and patient taking many pictures and signing all of our autograph books.
The Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage was a fun-filled adventure. It was a true pixie-dusted experience!
